Just voted “album of the week” in The Sun newspaper, and
already getting rave reviews in the music press, Bounce
is the long-awaited debut release from Glasgow band BOB CUBA
on their own label Fusion Records.
Formed just over a year ago, BOB CUBA have, through a schedule
of constant touring, recording and gaining regular national
radio airplay, become one of Scotland's premier independent
acts. Described on The Evening Session by Steve
Lamacq as: "the best thing to come out of Glasgow since
Primal Scream", BOB CUBA have been acclaimed for their
unashamedly eclectic brand of guitar pop. One minute driving
techno rhythms, the next lilting ballads.
Add alliances with reggae and space-rock and you have a
band that captures the imagination of their audience,
wondering where the next song will take them.
Bob Cuba recently appeared in the cartoon "Girlstuff,
Boystuff" on Nickelodeon, and have just celebrated their
debut release with a weekend of non-stop gigging and a radio
session on Air on BBC Radio Scotland. They will be
touring throughout the UK from May-October, including 2 dates
at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Bounce is a selection of some of the finest songs from
the first year of this exciting group. Why not hitch a ride
with Bob Cuba: the finest blend of the sublime and the
ridiculous.
